Taste of Cape Town 2011
This was the second time I attended Taste of Cape Town and - as last year - it was a thoroughly enjoyable experience. You only need a passion for good food and you will be guaranteed to have a good time: top restaurants from Cape Town, wine tasting, a small-producers market and lots of other exhibitors.
My favorite dishes this year were:
- Sirloin from Jordan Restaurant
- Beef Fillet from Planet Restaurant
Both sample dishes cost above R30 but were well worth it in the end. I would love to eat at these restaurants every week but I doubt that will happen any time soon. According to EatOut magazine a 3-course meal at Jordan costs around R225 and the average main course at Planet is around R150. I don't think my monthly budget could handle that. That's part of the reason I love attending Taste of Cape Town: Being able to try amazing dishes by Cape Town's top restaurants - Being able to taste dishes by restaurants you couldn't normally afford to dine at! I'm already looking forward to Taste of Cape Town 2012!
