Bring the KFC Double Down to South Africa

Hi all FoodBloggers,

this is a call to action!

First off, I would like to state that I am loyal to two fast food chains - depending on my budget I make my choice:

McD - cause it's cheap
Steers - cause it tastes good

But I'd stop going to those places immediately if the KFC Double Down Sandwich would be available in South Africa. What's the Double Down? I can't even describe it, it's too good for words. Best way is to show it to you! Clip has bad quality...but it still looks awesome.

If you want the Double Down Sandwich to be introduced in South Africa, join the Facebook Group and put some pressure on KFC.

It's not even on the market in the USA yet. KFC will add it to their menu on the 12th April. That's this Monday! But the hype on the internet has already been immense. KFC only intends to offer the Double Down for a limited time but action groups have already started forming to make this amazing piece of art permanent.

“KFC Has recently answered the call for meat lovers everywhere, We meat lovers are honored to support KFC in their efforts to sell the new Double Down Sandwich. We urge meat lovers of all ages, races and sex to order as many as possible during the month of April. We In Order To Form A More Perfect World Have Decided To Form A Union of All Lovers of The Double Down Of This Most Gracious Earth. Our Mission Is To Eat As Much Double Down as We Can So KFC Does Not Remove It From The Menu! Together we can help make this remain a permanent item on the KFC Menu.”

Some more info on the Double Down

The sandwich has no bread. Just two deep fried boneless chicken fillets that act in the bread's place. It contains bacon and melted cheese with the Colonel's Secret Mayo Sauce. You looking for additional lettuce??? No Thank You! It's a sandwich - not a salad! No lettuce, no tomato.

But for those who are interested: According to KFC, the calorie count for the Double Down is 540 which is exactly the same as a Big Mac.
