FoodBlog – Cape Town Restaurants: Crespella Pancakes/Crepes
If you think Crepes are just very thin pancakes with a bit of sugar and cinnamon, then u are very much mistaken. Please go to Crespella and find out for yourself. They offer a huge variety of Crepes which are divided into three categories: sweet, savoury and liquor. I bet I got your attention now. All in all they offer 38 different kind of crepe. And they always make changes to the menu to keep things fresh. The owner takes very good care when preparing the crepe and the ingredients. They are always freshly made, and the fillings are always cut in such small pieces that they will fill the crepe perfectly.
Crespella is owned by a Bulgarian couple who have a very big passion for making crepes. The shop is set us just like a small cafe and is very very simple. I think that’s the reason why I like it so much. They do not have fixed closing times, they usually stay open until 4 or 5, but if there is sufficient demand the owners do not mind staying open till 7pm.
They started their own little shop in 2006 at the V&A Waterfront and won the Runner-up Best Fast Food Award. Since then, they moved their shop to Observatory. Crespella are situated on the Corner of Lower Main and Collingwood in Obz next to the Zion Head Shop.
