FoodBlog – Cape Town Restaurants: Baia

Baia is the new destination for excellent seafood and cuisine in Cape Town. Translated it means “the Bay and is situated at the V&A Waterfront – one of Cape Town’s best restaurant district and a popular tourist destination. You will find them upstairs at the Victoria Wharf.
 
Luis Viana already has a big following in South Africa from his time as a restaurateur in Gauteng. He was able to get a prime spot for his new project Baia and intends to make this venue the best restaurant in the country when it comes to seafood.
 
But how does one judge whether the restaurant has become the pinnacle for seafood. Is Luis just looking for awards? Does he want to be on the Eat Out Top 10? He wasn’t in 2009 – but I don’t think that’s such a bad thing...maybe Baia will try harder, make the dining experience even better until they can proudly state that they are the best seafood restaurant in the country. But everything that goes up must come down...
