FoodBlog – Cape Town Restaurants: Ferrymans Tavern
Welcome to Ferrymans, the oldest pub and restaurant at the Waterfront. It is still run by the original owners who opened for business in 1989 and they are still going strong. Over time, it has gained a loyal following of locals and tourists. On sporting occasions Ferrymans Tavern is always packed. It should provide a very welcome atmosphere during the World Cup (as does Paulaner)!
The beer garden provides for lots of seats and is perfect for a hot summer day. Sometimes, there is nothing better to sit outside in the company of good friends and enjoy a nice cold beer. They offer a wide range of beers from South Africa and all over the world.
Their menu contains many excellent pub meals such as fish & chips, pies and curry & rice. They also have different specials every day – so make sure to ask!
I’ve been here on several occasions – never had to complain; it’s a really nice hangout spot! Good times!
