Recently launched, the ever so trendy Keenwa restaurant is Africa’s first Peruvian restaurant. Centrally located in the heart of Cape Town on Waterkant Street and already a hit with local and international foodies – Keenwa offers unique Peruvian cuisine coupled with central convenience.

Ceviche, a traditional coastal dish with a big Arabic influence brought to South America by the Spaniards, and is mostly eaten at lunch time. The dish is extremely popular across Peru and can be served in a variety of ways, but always tastes best when kept simple with lime juice, chillies and onions. Ceviche can also include calamari and fish, or prawns. Served cold, it's well accompanied by a good Peruvian beer.

Aji de Gallina, another popular coastal dish with Arabic influences, is a unique meal consisting of shredded chicken, pecan nuts, parmesan cheese, milk and bread -  served on a bed of rice and boiled potatoes.

Lomo Saltado, a beef dish with Chinese influence, is a delicious stir fry made of beef, tomato, onion and French fries, accompanied with white rice.

Peruvian cuisine is becoming more of a conversational subject with many renowned Peruvian restaurants opening branches in the biggest international cities. Keenwa has many unique selling points customers seek from the restaurant industry these days. Not only are we the first Peruvian restaurant to open doors in Africa, but they also provide a great venue for corporate lunches, offering a relaxed and social environment for all our patrons. Furthermore, the restaurant is conveniently located in the CBD - providing easy access to dine in true Peruvian/Cape Town summer alfresco style, which won’t break the bank either!

Keenwa offers a selection of delicious meals at reasonable prices. Starters range from R45.00 and mains are priced from R60.00. Keenwa will also provide patrons with a trendy drinks/cocktail bar upstairs, called Pisco bar. It is the first and only bar that offers the Peruvian liquor Pisco!
